- This visa is not guaranteed through The Canyons. It is a lengthy process that involves approval from the US government.
- If for some reason you are terminated, you will be required to leave the country immediately.
|
- This type of visa is applied and granted through a separate company (we currently use CCUSA and Universal Student Exchange (USE).
- This visa is good for up to 4 months.
- Employees on the J1 are allowed to switch positions and work multiple jobs, even outside The Canyons Resort.

Employment
|
- All H2B employees must maintain full-time employment throughout the season.
- H2B employees are not permitted to change positions
|
|
Visa Dates
|
-
If approved, the dates of employment will most likely be between Oct 15th through May 1st, 2008. The H2B employee is required to work until the end of the season in order to maintain a good return standing at The Canyons.
-
Depending on job position, H2B employees must start between November 1st and December 10th.
|
-
This visa allows the employee to work up to 4 months. To work at The Canyons, we ask the J1 visa employee to be available to work Dec 15th - April 15th, 2009.
-
Leaving any earlier than April 1st can potentially give you a "no-rehire" status.
|
Application Process
|
- Follow all directions and return H2B hire packet into HR by July 15th, 2008. The recruiting team will schedule an interview over the phone in your country.
- Once hired and you accept the offer, The Canyons will do all the necessary paperwork to get the visa for you.
- We do not guarantee that you will get the visa, as it is subject to the government and consulate approval.
- You will then be responsible to set up an appointment with your consulate for final approval (keep in mind this could take up to 6 weeks to get into your consulate).
- You are also responsible for all your travel arrangements and costs.
|
-
All applicants must apply through visa sponsor agencies.
-
A personal interview must be arranged and set-up at one of the international job fairs (see dates for your country)
-
All J-1 applicants hired by The Canyons must have excellent English speaking skills.
-
The Canyons will extend a job offer out to you.
|
Cost
|
- For all approved new-hire applicants that have been extended a job offer, a minimal fee of $50 USD will be charged to help cover the enormous costs of this program.
- All travel costs will be the employees responsibility.
- Your consulate may charge you up to $100 for the final processing of your visa.
|
-
Visa Sponsor Agencies charge fees associated with the arrangements of your visa and travel. They offer discounted rates for their services. Contact these work programs for details.
