Paycheck Information

Paychecks
The Canyons pays employees weekly each Thursday. Pay periods are Monday through Sunday. You will receive your first paycheck generally on the second work week. Please make arrangements to have your paycheck cashed or deposited using a local bank. Human resources will have some information on local banks in the area. Some local grocery stores in town can cash your check for a small fee.
Keep in mind that you should bring enough money for food and basic living expenses for the first two to four weeks of your stay. We recommend that you bring $300 - $500 in addition to your housing deposit and first week’s rent.
 
 
Taxes
International staff are NOT exempt from Federal and State Government Taxes. You must claim "single" on your W-4 when filling out your hire paperwork. Expect to have between 10 to 20% withheld from each paycheck for these taxes.
 

 
 
Final Paychecks
Voluntary Terminations - Your last paycheck will be available with the next, regularly scheduled pay period and issued in the Human Resources Office after all Canyons property has been returned (uniform, keys, radio, etc.). You may arrange for your check to be mailed with the Payroll Coordinator.  Please make sure you leave us with your most current address.

 
 
Involuntary Terminations - (Including 'end of season' terminations) Your final paycheck will be available in the Human Resources Office 24 hours after HR is notified of your termination. Please return any Canyons property (uniform, keys, radio, etc.) to HR immediately.  You may arrange for your check to be mailed with the Payroll Coordinator. Please make sure you leave us with your most current address.

 
**Direct deposit may be cancelled for the final paycheck.  If you are an international or leaving the state shortly after employment, please make arrangements ahead of time to mail your final check.
